I recently produced this woodcut to honour the genius of Italian poet Dante Aliighieri. A couple years ago I dusted off a copy of ‘The Devine Comedy” that had been laying dormant on my bookshelf for decades. I turned to the first canto and read the first lines:
"Midway upon the journey of our life, I found myself within a forest dark, for the straightforward pathway had been lost.”
My life was changed. Approximately 700 years after its initial publication it’s as powerful and as relevant as it ever was.
This is my humble tribute and thanks to one of humanities greatest poets.
